This page offers advice on how to migrate from the legacy Marble public API (deprecated as of July 24th, 2025 and to be removed in Feb 2026) to the official v1 Marble API.

If you are a new Marble user or starting a new Marble implementation from scratch, you can safely ignore this page.

Response format changes

Before

In the unversioned "v0" API, the endpoints were returning objects in an inconsistent way. For example,

the `GET /decision and the POST /decision endpoint would return a decision object directly
the POST /decisions/all endpoint would return an object with a "decisions" key and a nested array of decisions
the GET /decisions endpoint would return an object with an "items" key and a nested array of decisions, and a "has_next_page" boolean key
the GET /scheduled-executions would return an object with a "scheduled_executions" key and a nested array of scheduled executions

After

All endpoints (that return data) return an object with a "data" key, that contains the object (for endpoints that return a single item) or an array of objects. See the Pagination section in the introduction

Object renamings and field changes

Some entities have been renamed ("scheduled-execution" => "batch-execution") to better reflect their usage
The decision and batch-execution objects have had their fields modified. Some fields that were internal in nature have been removed, while more recently added fields have been added.
- The decision model now also contains the data on screenings done within a scenario.

Path changes

Some URL path prefixes and suffixes have been changed, for a more "semantically correct" path and because the public endpoints no longer clash with internal endpoints.

Input body changes

The POST /decisions endpoint no longer takes an object_type property (because that is implicit from the scenario_id that is passed).

Query param option changes

The options available to list decisions on the GET /decisions have been both restricted and extended:

restricted:

the endpoint no longer accepts several values of a given parameter, to filter "all entries that match at least one of these options" (also, all those parameters have been renamed from outcome[] to outcome, and so on)
has_case filtering has been removed

added:

filter decisions by trigger_object_id, case_id, review_status

modified:

start_date=> start, end_date=> end, and start takes a default value of "30 days ago". The range between start and end cannot be more than 90 days.

Input validation for ingestion

The v1 POST/PATCH /ingest endpoints no longer allow additional properties: passing fields that are not defined in the customer data model now returns a 400 status code. We made this change to follow a "principle of least surprise" when using the API.

The existing legacy public API endpoints now log a warning log every time an unknown additional property is received (for self-hosted users).

Authentication

The v1 API accepts authentication with a Bearer token (see intro).

Compatibility
For compatibility, public API v1 will still accept authentication through the x-api-key header. This may be removed in a future major API version.

Error responses

The basic error response body (in particular for 400/422 status codes) has been modified.
